About Maxine of Metaxia Therapies

Me with reiki client Bobby

Hello, and thank you for visiting my web site!

I grew up in Australia and have always been passionate about helping people and animals.

I have been surrounded by animals of all shapes and sizes all my life. My horse experiences range from ownership, where I enjoyed both pleasure riding and semi-regular competitions (general ridden and in-hand showing, before moving onto dressage) to – upon moving to England – sharing horses and ponies (from a welsh mountain pony to a 17 hand Irish sport horse!).

In more recent times my interest has turned to animal rehabilitation and general well-being, with an emphasis on Reiki energy healing and Canine Massage as complementary therapies alongside veterinary intervention.

As time has gone on, this has expanded and I now am regularly giving Reiki treatments to a range of animals, including cats, dogs and horses, as well as the occasional chicken, bird and sheep – and I offer body massage, kinesiology, and Reiki treatments to their 2-legged friends!

My interest in alternative therapies has led to me studying Body Massage (Carlton Institute of Beauty Therapy, 2003) and energy healing – progressing through Reiki I and II in 2007, to Reiki Master Practitioner level qualifications in 2009, and am now qualified to also attune others to this wonderful healing modality.

Other studies have included the theory and practical application of the Trust Technique, as taught by James French, Animal Reiki, Crystal healing with Animals (horses and dogs), Vibrational tools for healing with animals, and animal Acupoint/Acupressure.

Following on from my Canine Massage training (Merishia Massage) with Rose Holistic Therapies and Training, a course accredited with the NCFE, I completed workshops covering Canine Myofascial Release Techniques and Myofascial Release: Dural Release Techniques.

Kinesiology is my most recent qualification. I have attended various trainings to learn many additional techniques to help people on their journey back to their optimal health and general well-being, and am truly astounded at the range of issues this powerful complementary therapy can assist with!

Professional Membership

I am a practitioner member of Rose Holistic Therapies (Human and Animal), and the Association of Merishia Massage Therapists.

I am a member of the Kinesiology Federation UK (Touch for Health proficiency level).

Oh – and I am also a qualified Social Worker! (Bachelor of Social Work – gained at the University of South Australia).

Volunteering

I have always valued the importance of balancing the provision of a paid service and ‘giving something back’ to support charities. I am proud to be a volunteer Reiki healer at Haslemere Cats Protection. I find it very rewarding to help cats – that through no fault of their own – find themselves seeking new homes. See my Pets Testimonials page for a comment from Haslemere CP.

Insurance

I am fully insured to offer all the services listed above.
